UAlbany’s Comeback Falls Short in Series Finale Against Lehigh

Short Story: UAlbany scored three in the ninth to draw within two of Lehigh but ultimately lost, 4-6.
 
Head Coach Jon Mueller"Came up a little short at the end today. We lost the momentum in game three at the end and we were a step slow throughout offensively today. Overall, we pitched very well for the most part all weekend which is encouraging."

  • Ryan Pittz started the game for the Great Danes and Liam O'Hearen started on the mound for Lehigh.
  • Lehigh took a two to nothing lead in the bottom of the first after Ryan Cochran doubled, scoring Dom Patrizi, and Owen Walewander singled, scoring Cochran.
  • The Mountain Hawks added another run in the bottom of the fourth after Jack Frankovic knocked in Raffaele Rogers with a double.
  • Max Treonze came in to pitch for Lehigh in the top of the fifth.
  • Luke Boule came in to pitch for UAlbany in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Alex Enea came in to pitch for UAlbany in the bottom of the seventh.
  • With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Lehigh took a four to nothing lead after Aidan Quinn hit an RBI double.
  • Matthew Mariano came in to pitch for UAlbany with one out in the seventh.
  • The Mountain Hawks then tacked on another two runs in the seventh after Edwin Betances brought in Aidan Quinn and Ryan Cochran with a single.

  • With two outs in the eighth, Louis Kaleb drove in Logan Morris with an RBI single, making the score six to one.
  • In the bottom of the ninth, the Danes scored three runs to make the score six to four after Kyle Stephens scored on a fielder's choice, Victor Mazzara scored on a Logan Morris double, and Jared Toby scored on a passed ball.
