UAlbany Takes Game One Against Lehigh

Short Story: UAlbany controlled the game the whole way against Lehigh, ultimately winning 6-2.
 
Head Coach Jon Mueller"Banner continues to go out and give us a great chance every time he takes the ball. He is consistent with his approach, and he really controlled both sides of the plate for eight innings.  Luke Filippi had a huge two out hit and we made the plays defensively. Well-played game."

  • Lehigh answered right back in the bottom of the second on a Justin Butler double that scored Edwin Betances.
  • The Danes then broke the game open in the top of the third, scoring four runs after RBI singles by Logan Morris and Jared Toby, and a double by Luke Filippi that knocked in two.
  • Julio Ermigiotti came in to pitch for Lehigh in the top of the fourth.
  • Grady Golier then came in to pitch for the Mountain Hawks in the top of the seventh.
  • Lehigh cut the lead to three in the bottom of the eighth after a groundout scored Ryan Davis.
  • The Danes then took a six to two lead in the top of the ninth after Ryan Ferremi knocked in Levi McAllister with a single.
  • Lehigh brough in Max Treonze to pitch with two outs in the top of the ninth.
  • Alex Enea came in to close for the Danes in the bottom of the ninth.
