HOLIDAY HOOPLA!

The Great Danes will enter Sunday's “Holiday Hoopla” matchup after traveling to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt Thursday night. UAlbany has been shooting .427 from the paint, .398 from beyond the arc, and .705 from the free throw line. The Great Danes have been averaging 32.2 rebounds, 15.6 assists, 7.2 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game. Amaya Stewart and Delanie Hill lead the team in points with both of them averaging 13.7 points per game and totaling 151 on the season. Martina Borrellas leads off the boards, averaging 6.5 rebounds per game. Borrellas and Hill have tallied the most playing time, each averaging 31.8 minutes per game. 

Hofstra comes into Sunday's game at 2-7 overall after suffering a loss to St. John's on Saturday, December 13. The Pride are shooting .383 from the field and .279 from beyond the arc. They are also averaging 34.4 rebounds, 11.6 assists, 19.2 turnovers, seven steals, and 2.1 blocks per game. Hofstra is led by Sandra Magolico who has averaged 11.4 points per game, and leads the team in steals with nine. 

Since 2010, Hofstra has led the overall series between the Pride and the Great Danes, 5-1. In their latest meeting in 2021, UAlbany prevailed with a 70-41 victory. During their 2021 matchup, the entire 13-woman roster got playing time, and 11 of them scored at least a point.

HOLIDAY HOOPLA!

The Great Danes will enter Sunday's "Holiday Hoopla" game vs Cornell, after facing off against Stony Brook on Wednsday, December 17. The Great Danes are coming off matchup against Florida Atlantic, a program that mad the NCAA Final Four Tournament in 2023. Against FAU, junior guard Jaden Kempson, who was later named America East Player of the Week, recorded 30 points while shooting 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the floor and 4-of-6 (66.7%) from beyond the arc, with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Great Danes are averaging 75.9 points , 29.3 field goals, 7.4 three-pointers, 10.0 free throws, 35.3 rebounds 15.8 assists, 8.3 steals, and 3.3 blocks per game. Amir Lindsey leads the team averaging 15.3 points, followed by Jaden Kempson at 11.0 points a game. Okechukwu Okeke had grabbed the most boards for UAlbany at 5.8. with 25 total steals, Jaden Kempson ranks 28th in the nation in total steals.

The Big Red are coming into sundays contest on a weeks rest, having fallen to Samford 93-90 in Birmingham, Ala. Cornell is averaging 91.1 points, 31.5 field goals, 13.9 three-pointers, 14.2 free throws, 26.6 rebounds, 21.3 assists, 6.3 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game. heading into the week, their 21.3 assists a game is the highest average in the nation, while ranking first in three pointers per game (13.9), sixth in three point attempts (34.2) and percentage (40.6%)  they are led in scoring by Cooper Noard, averaging 20.2 points a game with the 13th best scoring offense (91.1 ppg). they are led by Cooper Noard who is ranked No.31 in points per game averaging 20.2. Kasparr Sepp leads the team with 6.0 rebounds a game, and Jacob Beccles has recorded the most assists with 30, with four players recording 20 or more assists this season.
