BOSTON - Amaya Stewart of UAlbany women's basketball has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday.
 
In her first collegiate game, freshman Amaya Stewart totaled 17 points, five rebounds, and a team-high four blocks in a 28-point victory against Marist. Three days later, she added seven rebounds at Syracuse and averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in the 1-1 week.
 
This is Stewart's first career AE weekly award.
 
UAlbany will continue its season tonight against Dartmouth at Broadview Center.
