The Great Danes are back home with a 1-1 record in one week of action. UAlbany opened the season with a 74-46 victory against Marist before holding Syracuse below 70 points in a loss on the road. 

Sophomore Delanie Hill leads the team with 18.5 points per game (.632 FG%, .583 3PT%) while fellow sophomore Martina Borrellas holds a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game while following Hill with 13.5 ppg. Freshmen point guard Anaïs Levasseur (seven assists) and forward Amaya Stewart (17 points, four blocks) opened their college career with a strong showing against Marist. Graduate student Júlia Palomo Vicente is 22 points away from 1000 points in her collegiate career.

UAlbany leads the all-time series against Dartmouth, 6-3. The Great Danes have won the last four contests in the series including a 58-53 win in New Hampshire on November 13, 2024.

The UAlbany men's basketball team will hold its home opener on Tuesday, November 11 at 6:30 pm against the SUNY Delhi Broncos. The Great Danes are currently 0-2 coming off of losses against Marquette of the Big East and UMass of the MAC. Amir Lindsey leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game followed behind Zacharie Matulu (11.5) and Jaden Kempson (10.0). Matulu also leads the team with 14 rebounds, three offensively and 11 defensively, and is second on the team with five steals behind Kempson with seven steals. in blocks, Okechukwu Okeke leads the team with three.

This is the first meeting between the Great Danes and Bronco's. SUNY Delhi is coming off an 80-60 loss against Utica and are led by Adan Madera who recorded 14 points against the pioneers. Solomonn Mason and Jason Tagios follow with nine points each. Off the glass, Anthony Graffeo - Jackson leads the team with 10 rebounds.

SENIOR NIGHT!

UAlbany enters the weekend at 12-11 overall and 5-4 in America East play after a five-set battle at NJIT. Graduate outside hitter Shynelle Woroniuk leads the team with 3.83 kills per set, while redshirt-junior Gabriella Karman ranks top four in the conference in hitting percentage (.338) and blocks per set (1.15). Setter Maria Olga Siapani continues to pace the offense with 9.05 assists per set and 14 double-doubles this season.

UMBC sits at 11-10 overall and 7-2 in conference play, featuring one of the league’s most balanced attacks. The Retrievers clinched a regular season championship following this weekends contests.

UAlbany defeated the Retrievers 3-1 earlier this season in Baltimore and leads the all-time series 37-16.

SENIOR DAY!

UAlbany football returns to Casey Stadium this Saturday as the Great Danes host CAA rival Towson for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.

Senior Day is on the calendar as the program looks to recognize 20+ seniors for their contributions to the program. A pregame ceremony will be held before the game, so fans are encouraged to arrive to their seats 30 minutes before kickoff to ensure they don’t miss any of the action. 

The Great Danes come into Saturday’s matchup with a 1-9 overall record. The team is coming off a thrilling contest with Bryant from this past weekend in a game that featured close back-and-forth action from start to finish. The Tigers come into Saturday’s game with an overall record of 4-6, having gone 2-4 in CAA action. It will be the first time Towson steps on Bob Ford Field since the 2018 season. The Tigers fell this previous weekend at home to #10 Villanova, 28-10.
