Short Story: The University at Albany men's lacrosse program used a total team effort en route to taking down America East rival Vermont, 13-11, at Casey Stadium to improve to 2-0 in conference play. It was the first regular season win over the Catamounts dating back to 2018, but was the second-straight win for the Great Danes after having beaten Vermont in the Semifinals of last year's America East Tournament.

How it Happened:
- The Great Danes jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, scoring three-straight over the first 3:15. Graydon Hogg scored the first before back-to-back scores from freshman Ryan Doherty.
- Vermont got its first of the afternoon five minutes in when Tristan Whitaker found the back of the net.
- Vermont made it 3-2 on a goal from Griffin Fenech with 4:45 remaining in the first. The game became tied with 2:34 on the clock on Whitaker's second of the day, going top shelf.
- Whitaker completed the hat trick with the first goal of the second quarter 1:27 in, making it four-straight for Vermont and giving the Catamounts the lead.
- Silas Richmond tied the game at 4-4 with his first of the day at the 10:21 mark, but Vermont re-took the lead two minutes later on a blast from Luke Reiter.
- The score was pushed to 6-4 with just under five minutes remaining in the first half. Vermont's Charlie Pope, the team's leading scorer, buried his first on an assist from Brock Haley.
- The Great Danes ended the first half with two goals to tie the game at 6-6 heading into the locker room. Amos Whitcomb scored his first with UAlbany a man up to make it 6-5 just before Silas Richmond barely beat out the shot clock to tie it minutes later.
- UAlbany finished the first half with more shots, 20-17, but the Catamounts led 9-4 in saves.
- Regan Endres won 10-14 faceoffs in the first half.
- Vermont scored the first goal of the second half. From behind the net, Vermont's Pope fed Max Frattaroli in front for the score.
- The Great Danes then rattled off two goals to take an 8-7 advantage. Hogg scored his second of the day on a feed from Whitcomb and Pfeiffer scored his first following a defensive stop.
- Vermont tied it at 8-8 with 8:23 remaining on Pope's second of the day, but UAlbany's Doherty answered with his third less than a minute later to complete the hat trick and push UAlbany back in front, 9-8.
- Jackson Palumb notched his first of the day with 4:18 on the clock in the third to put UAlbany up two, 10-8.
- Silas Richmond completed the hatty with 47 seconds left in the third. On the ensuing faceoff, the Great Danes marched right back down and scored again to push the lead to 12-8. The goal was scored by Caeden LaPietro, the first of his career.
- Vermont brought the game back within reach scoring two quick goals, one with five seconds left in the third and the next just 21 seconds into the fourth to make it 12-10.
- The lead dropped to just one goal with 11:37 remaining after Whitaker scored his fourth.
- The Great Danes took advantage of an unforced Vermont turnover with just under seven minutes left, with a fast break ending in a Jake Piseno pass to Silas Richmond for his fourth goal, putting UAlbany up 13-11. It would be the final score of the afternoon.
