How it Happened:
- The Great Danes gave Owen Birkman the start. The Hoyas gave Marcello Mastroianni the nod.
- UAlbany got the bats going early with John Vitucci leading off the game with a double and scoring on a Will Binder double down the left field line. Loading the bases with a hit by pitch and a single, Justin Hurd earned a walk to give the Great Danes a 2-0 advantage.
- Georgetown was quick to strike back. Earning two walks, Derek Smith hit a rope to left center to score a run. Kavi Caster followed up with a three-run home run to take a 4-2 lead.
- The Hoyas extended their lead in the bottom of the second with Christian Fica hitting a three-run shot, making it 7-2.
- Caster hit his second home run of the contest to extend Georgetown's lead. The Hoyas continued to be dangerous at the plate as they loaded the bases and scored on a hit-by-pitch and a walk. Frica cleared the bases with a double down the right field line to push the score to 13-2.
- Matthew Mariano was brought in from the pen by UAlbany in the third inning with a runner on second.
- Continuing to add to their lead with an RBI single by Michael Eze to give Georgetown a 14-2 advantage in the fourth.
- The Hoyas went to the pen in the fifth inning, bringing Jordan Yoder in to pitch.
- In the sixth inning, Cooper Loyal and Justin Hurd got things going with back-to-back singles. Anthony Scarabino capitalized, going the other way for an RBI single, reducing the difference to 14-3.
- Jack Volo was brought in to pitch by Georgetown in the seventh inning.
- With two runners in scoring position, Braxton Templin added to the Hoyas' lead with a fielder's choice, making it 15-3.
- With two runners on, Marco Castillo hit a two-run RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to give the Hoyas a 17-3 advantage.
- Andrew Jergins came in to close the ninth inning for Georgetown.
- The Hoyas claimed game one, 17-3.
