Fields, Archers LC Win 2023 PLL Title

CHESTER, Pa. – Connor Fields has become the third UAlbany alumni to win a Premier Lacrosse League title, when is Archers outlasted the defending champion Waterdogs 15-14 in Sunday's championship game.

 

Fields, who was ruled out of Sunday's final due to injury, had led the Archers in scoring in 2023, accumulating 39 total points behind 28 goals and 11 assists.  Fields led the Archers to the 2023 regular-season title, and was named a finalist for the PLL's Eamon McEneaney Attackman of the Year award.
 
Sunday's final saw the Archers jump out to a 10-4 lead, before the Waterdogs clawed back to tie the game at 12 to start the fourth quarter.  The Archers regrouped and rebuilt a two-goal lead, before the Waterdogs tied the game once more at 14.  In the final minute, 2023 MVP Tom Schreiber scored with one second remaining on the shot clock to put the Archers ahead for good 15-14.
 
Sunday's championship final was the third game between the Archers and Waterdogs in 2023.  Each game was decided by one goal.
 
Fields joins Blaze Riorden and Troy Reh as former Great Danes who have won PLL titles.
