Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team was able to outplay the Marist Red Foxes, and the rain, en route to a 9-5 victory on Wednesday afternoon.
Head Coach Jon Mueller: "Good overall win for the guys today. Hopefully we can build on this and bring it to our series with Binghamton this weekend in a huge conference series. Joe Tobia was outstanding on the mound."

- UAlbany Pitchers:
- Devan Kruzinski and Will Feil led the offense, both going 2-4 with two RBIs. Kruzinski had a triple, Feil had a double, a run scored, and a walk.
- Will Binder went 2-4 at the plate with two runs scored.
- Jason Bottari went 1-4 with a double and a walk, adding an RBI and three runs scored.
- Carson Dunkel accumulated three walks, an RBI, and a run scored.
- Josh Salandy went 1-1 with a pinch-hit single.
- UAlbany finished with eight hits, six walks, eight strikeouts, and left eight men on base.
How it Happened:
- Thomas Quinn started on the mound for the Great Danes, Marko Gibbons started for the Red Foxes.
- Marist struck first in the opening inning. Brian Hart hit a long home run to right field to make it 1-0 early.
- The Great Danes added three runs in the bottom half of the first inning. With the bases loaded, Will Feil hit a soft grounder to the Marist pitcher – who gave an errant throw to home. Justin Hurd and Will Binder scored on the play as a result. Later in the inning, Carson Dunkel hit a sac fly to right field, brining Jason Bottari.
- UAlbany added three more runs in the second inning. Following an error from the Marist second baseman, Hurd and Binder both scored after the ball was put in play by Jason Bottari. Later in the inning, Bottari scored from first base on a deep double from Feil, making it a 6-1 game.
- Cregg Scherrer entered the game for UAlbany to start the third inning.
- Steven Mazza entered for Marist to start the bottom of the third.
- Marist cut the lead to 6-3 in the fourth inning. Brian Hart scored from third on a wild pitch and Devin Boone hit an infield single to bring home Nick Butler.
- Joseph Tobia was handed the ball for UAlbany to begin the fifth.
- With runners on the corners and two outs in the fifth, Marist put Danny Keon on the mound. Following the pitching change, Bottari scored from third on a wild pitch to make it 7-3
- The Great Danes added two more runs in the seventh thanks to a two-RBI single from Devan Kruzinski. The hit knocked Marist's Keon out of the game with two outs and runners on first and second. He was replaced by Caleb Kempler.
- Michael DiMartino took the mound for UAlbany to start the eighth.
- The Red Foxes added two runs in the eighth to make it 9-5. Ethan Conrad hit a deep double to left center to bring in both runs.
- Jack Keenan took the mound for Marist to start the bottom of the eighth.
