SHORT STORY: The Great Danes opened the day with a shutout victory over Georgetown before falling in a close 3-2 loss to Creighton, Saturday.

- Senior Maddi Petrella led the Great Danes with three RBI and three hits.
- Senior Wendi Hammond added two RBI with the first Great Dane triple of the season.
- On three hits, senior Morgan Petty tallied one RBI. The outfielder added three stolen bases.
- Hammond pitched her second complete-game win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two scoreless innings, sophomore Caitlyn Frederick scored the first run after a sacrifice fly from Morgan Petty.
- Senior Caitlyn Mitros added a run when Maddi Petrella hit a single to give the Great Danes a 2-0 lead after three innings.
- UAlbany extended their lead with four runs in the bottom of the fifth.
- After Petrella added a second RBI and a fourth run, Wendi Hammond hit a triple to drive in two runs.
- Up 6-0, the Great Danes tallied three outs in three batters in the top of the sixth.
- UAlbany went on a two-out rally to earn the 8-0 victory in six innings. With two singles in a row, junior Jordan Nastos scored.
- Petty closed the game with the eighth run after stealing home.

KEY STATS
- Maddi Petrella hit the Great Danes' first home run of the season.
- Morgan Petty added a second homer for UAlbany.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bluejays tallied the first hit in the first inning before Maddi Petrella hit a single to open the second inning.
- The Great Danes ended the third inning with a double play from Deanna Grahek and sophomore Sierra Fretz.
- UAlbany took a one-run lead when Petrella hit a home run over the center-field fence.
- Creighton scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
- A home run over the left field line from Morgan Petty tied the score in the top of the sixth inning.
- The Bluejays added a run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
- As the Great Danes were unable to put a runner on base in the top of the seventh, Creighton took the one-run win, 3-2.
NEXT: UAlbany will close out their weekend at the Spring Games with a 9 am contest against MTSU on Sunday.
