Baseball to Play Select Home Games at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany baseball team has announced that five home games during the 2023 season are set to be played at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy this spring. Referred to as “The Joe” by Capital Region baseball fans, Joseph L. Bruno Stadium is the home to the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League.

Friday, March 24 – vs. UMBC @ 3:00 p.m.

Friday, April 14 – vs. UMass Lowell @ 6:00 p.m.

Friday, April 28 – vs. Wagner @ 6:00 p.m.

Friday, May 5 – vs. Binghamton @ 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, May 18 – vs. NJIT @ 6:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes, fans, and their families. We are looking forward to hosting these games at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium this spring.

Each game at “The Joe” will be the first of a three-game weekend series for the Great Danes, with the following two games of each series being played at UAlbany. The first game is scheduled against America East rival UMBC on March 24. The 4,500-seat stadium is located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, about a 15-minute drive from the UAlbany campus. Admission for fans will be free, with concessions available throughout the course of the game. 

 

The facility has an open-air concourse designed to give every seat a great view of the field with an intimate ballpark feel. Stadium amenities include 10 luxury suites, grass berm seating areas, four unique picnic areas, multiple concession stands, and a 36’ x 17’ video board.

Games at “The Joe” that are canceled due to weather will be made up at Varsity Field on the campus of UAlbany. All games played in Troy will also be streamed live on americaeast.tv
