Key Stats
Head Coach Scott Marr: "I thought we played hard and, for as much defense as we had to play, I felt we did a really nice job, especially in the second half only allowing three goals.Â
Tommy Heller played very well in goal. Bottom line is we are up 2-0 with the ball and a chance to go up 3-0 and we turn the ball over on our next five possessions. They capitalize and make it 5-2 and that's the difference in the game. We will continue to work hard and get ready for Maryland."

How it Happened
- Corey Yunker made his first appearance of the season, having missed the first three games of 2022 sidelined with an injury. He wasted no time getting started, scoring the Great Danes' first goal of the game with 11:44 remaining in the first quarter.
- Amos Whitcomb, fresh off his first career America East Rookie of the Week honor, put UAlbany up 2-0 just over three minutes later off a setup from Keelan Seneca. UAlbany's scoring advantage early on was limited by two shots that hit the post in the first eight minutes.
- UMass responded by rolling off the next five goals to close the first quarter and take a 5-2 lead into the second. Logan Tucker ended the Minutemen's streak with a goal with 12:47 left before halftime. UAlbany and UMass traded the next five goals before the Minutemen strung together two-straight to close the second quarter and take a four-goal, 9-5 lead into halftime.
- Scoring slowed down in the second half, with the teams combining for seven total goals after halftime. UMass went back up by five early in the third before UAlbany scored twice within the final 5:17 of the quarter to cut the lead to three.
- Yunker's second goal, with 14:33 left in the fourth, capped a three-score run for UAlbany which cut the lead to two. UMass responded by scoring the next two to take a four-goal lead. Pucci scored his third goal of the game to bring the final score to 12-9.
- UAlbany goalkeeper recorded a career-high 14 saves, one game after setting his previous career-high 10 saves against Siena last week.
Next: UAlbany visits #1 Maryland on Saturday, March 12.
