ALBANY, N.Y. – Former University at Albany Department of Athletics administrator Charlie Voelker has been selected to host ESPN Radio 104.5 FM The Team's weekday afternoon show.
 
Voelker retired as UAlbany's Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs in October, 2019, after 24 years with the university.  Since then, Voelker has continued his involvement with UAlbany Athletics as the play-by-play and color announcer for Great Danes football, basketball, and lacrosse.
 
Voelker got his start at UAlbany in 1996 as the color commentator for the football and basketball radio broadcasts.  He currently hosts of 104.5 The Team's Sunday Sports Buzz.  His new show, Voelker and Bahl, co-hosted by WTMM brand manager Dan Bahl, begins today, Tuesday, June 1, and will air weekdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
 
104.5 The Team's local line up also includes "Big Board Sports" with Rodger Wyland weekdays from 10:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. and is the broadcast home for Yankees Baseball, Jets Football, UAlbany Athletics, and airs several regional and national ESPN shows.  Townsquare owns and operates six radio stations in Albany including WGNA, WTMM, WQBK, WQBK-HD2, WQSH and WPBZ.
