- Shane Paradine led off the scoring for Stony Brook with a two-run single in the first, as the Seawolves took an early 2-0 lead.
- Evan Giordano added to the lead in the second inning with an RBI groundout and Chris Hamilton added a sacrifice fly that gave Stony Brook a 4-0 lead.
- In the same inning, UAlbany committed an error with two outs that extended the inning and Stony Brook piled on seven more runs. The Seawolves produced two-run singles by two different players, a one-run single, a walk with the bases loaded and another error that accounted for the seven runs.
- With an 11-0 lead in the third, starter Nick DeGennaro completed his six-inning shut out of UAlbany. Josh Loeffler's hit in the third inning was the Great Danes' first of the game and Brad Malm's in the sixth was their final.
