BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Three members of the University at Albany track & field program competed beyond the end of their inaugural collegiate seasons over the weekend, participating in the 2018 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships at Indiana University. Freshmen Asia Jinks, Victor Cotto, and Bryan Nicholson were the Great Danes' representatives.
Jinks, a hurdler from Hempstead, N.Y., competed in the women's 400m hurdles. In Friday's semifinal round, Jinks placed 15th overall in 1:03.75.
Cotto, a jumper from, Bayonne, N.J., competed in the men's long jump. Also competing on Friday, Cotto did not record a mark, fouling on all three of his attempts.
Nicholson, a thrower from, Elmont, N.Y., competed in the men's discus, an event in which he set the program's freshman record this season. Competing on Sunday, Nicholson placed 11th overall with a mark of 164-01.00, the second-best mark of his career in the event.
