Track Sends Two To Mt. SAC Relays

ALBANY, N.Y.—The University at Albany track & field team will send two student-athletes to compete in the 58th Mt. SAC Relays in Norwalk, California. The meet will feature some of the nation's top athletes. Representing the Great Danes are Molly Pezzulo and Cara Sherman.
"We are excited about Molly and Cara representing UAlbany at the prestigious Mt SAC Relays in California," said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Roberto Vives. "They are both running the 10,000 meters on Thursday night and are capable of NCAA Regional performances. They have worked hard and are ready."
The meet will begin on Thursday, April 14 and continue until April 16 at the Cerritos College Falcon Stadium. Traditionally, the meet has been held in the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the Campus of Mt. San Antonio College, but the facility will be undergoing renovations until 2017.
Senior Molly Pezzulo is entered in the women's open 1,000-meter run scheduled for Thursday at 7:50 P.M. PST. This trip marks her second appearance at Mt. Sac. She competed in the 10,000-meter race last year and placed 26th in 37:13.00 to satisfy the ECAC standard.
Freshman Cara Sherman will compete in the women's 10,000-meter race on Thursday night at 11:15 P.M. PST.
The Mt. SAC Relays will begin Thursday, April 14 at 6:00 P.M. PST with the men's collegiate open 3,000-meter steeplechase, followed by the women.
