Four See Day-Two Action At East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Thursday saw four University at Albany student-athletes compete in the NCAA East Preliminary Championships in four different events. Four student-athletes competed on Friday, three for the first time and one qualifier from yesterday's competition.
Grace Claxton was the only holdover from Thursday's events, having qualified for the quarterfinals in the women's 400. Today, Claxton placed 24th overall, crossing the line in 53.98. Nathan Hiett kicked off the proceedings for UAlbany on the second day of competition in the men's pole vault. He did not clear a height in the event, ending without a mark. The final event of the day for the Great Danes was the men's high jump. Kingsley Ogbonna and Matthew Campbell each landed in a six-way tie for 33rd place, clearing a height of 6'-8.25”.
Tomorrow, the final three UAlbany student-athletes will compete in their events, which turns out to be exclusively the triple jump. Alexx Baum will compete in the women's event at 4:00 p.m., and Devon Willis and Jordan Crump-King will compete in the men's event at 7:00 p.m.
