Miles Thompson Takes Home America East Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. -- UAlbany's Mile
Thompson was named the America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week after setting a school record for goals in a game in a 17-15 Great Dane victory over Bryant on Saturday. It is Thompson's first Player of the Week award this season.
Thompson set a single-game progarm record that broke the previous mark of eight set by Merrick Thomson in 2004 and Corey Small in 2009. The junior attackman, who missed the last three UAlbany games games due to injury, took no time to return to form. In the second quarter, with the Great Danes up 7-6, Thompson scored UAlbany's next seven
goals, growing the advantage to 13-7. The nine scores were the most by an
America East player since Stony Brook's Jordan McBride had 10 at Delaware in
2008. Thompson leads the league averaging 4.67 goals per game.
Thompson and the Great Danes will return to action at home on Saturday, hosting #15/16 Bucknell at 1 p.m. on John Fallon Field.
