UAlbany Boathouse

The UAlbany Boathouse is located at 260 Cannon St., Green Island, N.Y., 12183, along the Hudson River, next to Silhouette Optical. The facility serves as the home of the Great Danes’ women’s rowing program and provides dedicated space for the team’s boats, oars and rowing equipment.

The boathouse is approximately a 15-minute drive from the University at Albany’s main campus, providing the team with convenient access to its training site.

From the boathouse, the Great Danes have direct access to the Hudson River, providing a dedicated location for daily practices and on-water training in the Capital Region.

The facility serves as the primary storage location for the program’s racing and training boats, oars and additional rowing equipment. Having a dedicated boathouse allows the team to keep its equipment centralized and provides student-athletes and coaches with a home base before and after practices.

The boathouse became the program’s new home after UAlbany spent its first two seasons sharing facilities with Union College and training on the Mohawk River. The move to Green Island provides the Great Danes with their own dedicated facility and direct access to the Hudson River.

The UAlbany boathouse provides the foundation for the Great Danes’ continued growth as a Division I program and gives the team a permanent home for training and competition preparation.
